I am an integrative biologist using reptiles as main (but not exclusive) model organisms. My interests embrace ecology, physiology, behaviour, morphology, life history, biogeography, interspecific relationships and conservation focusing on functional aspects, using experimental procedures and working under an evolutionary framework.
My research at CIBIO-InBIO is developed through the Functional Biodiversity (FBIO) group. Nevertheless, the nature of my research prioritises scientific networking. Researchers worldwide may find synergies based on my published work and suggest collaborative projects in equal terms.
I lecture Biodiversity and Population and Functional Ecology in the MSc in Biodiversity, Genetics and Evolution MBGE, in the MSc in Ecology, Environment and Territory MEET and in the Doctoral Program in Biodiversity, Genetics and Evolution BIODIV as well as the Degrees in Biology and Environmental Sciences and Tecnology at the Faculty of Sciences of the University of Porto.
